San Diego’s favorite annual winter festival is finally here! Hosted by the City of San Diego, December Nights makes its triumphant comeback to Balboa Park from Friday, December 7th to Saturday, December 8th, 2018. We’re sure you’ll love the decorative lights, festive music, and jolly activities offered all throughout the Park, but even the most energetic celebrants need a break from the hustle and bustle every now and again. This year, grab your winter companions and take advantage of one of the Park’s seasonal 21-and-up lounges!

These special adults-only areas open exclusively for December Nights and are sure to warm you from the inside out. Take in a beautiful lights display, grab a bite, and unwind with a glass for some casual holiday activities or magical music. After all, you can’t spell winter without wine!

The Black Hole at Fleet Science Center

Flash your 21+ photo ID at The Fleet’s front entrance and fast track the line to get in – then head straight for The Black Hole! Yes, you heard us correctly. This creatively named exclusive indoor area is complete with local craft beers and wine, board games, holiday songs, science discussion, and plenty of giveaways!

 

San Diego Air and Space Museum’s Indoor Beer Garden

Baby, it’s cold outside. So head into the Air and Space Museum for Balboa Park’s largest December Nights indoor beer garden! Featuring local food and spirits vendors, this special area opens from 3:30 pm to 10:00 pm both nights.

 

The Nat’s Rooftop Lounge

Eager to get a bird’s-eye view of this sprawling winter festival? Head to The Nat’s exclusive 21-and-up rooftop lounge for a glass of wine and an unrivaled view of December Nights in all its glory. Weather permitting, the lounge will be open from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm on both days.

 

The Spirits Garden at Balboa Park’s International Cottages

Head to the International Village during December Nights for a truly cultural experience! All of the cottages will be open and offering a variety of global foods, drinks, and other cultural treats. We know what you’re really here for, though. Don’t be shy – head straight to the Spirits Garden and let the merrymaking begin!



Of course, if you’re not interested in a drink but would still like a break from the cold, take a peek at some exhibits! Each museum will cast its doors wide open and offer complimentary admission throughout this wintery weekend event.
